Where We Gather: Scripture Insights from Modern Day Disciples
The Where We Gather podcast was created to help you draw closer to the Savior through personal scripture study, meaningful conversations and simple acts of faith.
Audra Elkington is a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The stresses of life and sincere questions piled up and she spent 6 years away from the church. Since returning to full participation in her mid-30s, Audra has rebuilt her testimony from the ground up. She stripped away all the questions and cultural concerns and started with learning about and nurturing a relationship with the Savior.
Audra has a deep desire to help others learn more about Jesus Christ and His doctrine. The gospel, as laid out by the Savior, is for everyone who is willing to turn toward Him and follow His teachings. This is the core of the gathering of Israel. The Savior is where we gather.
Audra has been featured in LDS Living's This is the Gospel, Time Out for Women and has been a guest on several podcasts. She has also taught at FSY, Online Institute, and SALT Gathering. Audra is a graduate of Brigham Young University.

Where We Gather: Scripture Insights from Modern Day Disciples
5 - Enduring Hard Things: Finding Strength When the Journey Feels Endless
What if the strength you need isn’t in pushing harder but in quietly enduring with faith?
In this episode of Where We Meet, we’re turning our attention to a group of often-overlooked women in The Book of Mormon: the wives of Nephi and his brothers, found in 1 Nephi 17:1–4. Though unnamed in the scriptures, their story is one of grit, grace, and quiet obedience in the wilderness.
We explore what it means to be both afflicted and greatly blessed and how the Lord gives real power to Latter-day Saint women who choose to endure with faith, even when the journey feels never-ending.
Audra shares a tender personal story from her own wilderness season. As she likens the scriptures to her own life, you'll feel seen in your own afflictions and reminded that the Lord is always with you.
Whether you're in a literal or emotional wilderness right now, this episode will help you recognize God's hand, reframe what it means to be “strong,” and lean into quiet but powerful discipleship.
In this episode, you’ll learn:
- What The Book of Mormon teaches about quiet, faithful women and why they matter
- How to liken the scriptures to your current season (even if it feels nothing like ancient wilderness)
- Why obedience isn’t about perfection, but positioning yourself to receive strength and direction from Christ
This episode is especially for Latter-day Saint women who are tired, stretched thin, or wondering if their quiet efforts matter. The truth is: they do.
The Lord sees your unseen service.
He blesses your obedient heart.
And He gives real power to those who look to Him.

If this episode spoke to your heart, would you take a moment to leave a review or share it with a friend? Your kind words help more women find the show. More goodness being listened to leads to more goodness being shared.
